Welcome to Halftime in Columbus
The book Halftime, written by Bob Buford, was first published in 1994.  Bob was a successful executive, yet when he reached mid-life, he realized God was calling him to do something much more significant with the "second half" of his life.  In his book, he wrote about his own journey, which included taking a "halftime" break and then redesigning his career path from one of "success to significance."  Thus, Halftime Ministry and the Halftime movement got its start.

Halftime in Columbus is the name picked for the collaboration underway between Columbus Christian leaders (ministry and marketplace) engaged in a citywide movement to match the baby boom generation's desire to serve with the needs of our community.

Working with the blessing and support of the Halftime Ministries office, Halftime in Columbus is building a Halftime model uniquely designed to serve a city and become a significant, sustainable and replicable model for other cities across the US.

Because God customizes each person’s journey, Halftime in Columbus is designed to provide support to individuals from across the economic, social and racial spectrum as they make their midlife transition and discover their significant purpose.

Halftime in Columbus Discovery Center

The Halftime in Columbus Discovery Center is a life-changing 7-week experience designed to equip people with the tools, support, and strategies needed to move into Halftime, discover where their deepest passions intersect with their greatest abilities, and transition into living a significant second half of life.  The Lord has assembled an excellent team of local leaders to facilitate the Discovery Center experience.

The HTC Discovery Center will begin with an overnight retreat focused on the Inward Journey.  In the middle weeks, attenders will discover their gifts, passions, and how their life experience has prepared them to live a significant second half.  The final weeks will focus on  barriers to change and opportunities at hand.  The Halftime in Columbus "city initiative" is being developed in the context of the Central Ohio community transformation movement involving many local churches and ministries working together to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the citizens living in our communities.  Opportunites to change lives, make a difference, and impact our city will be explored.  At the end, attenders will be introduced to coaching and connected to an ongoing process we trust will lead to the discovery of their purpose for being here.
